For the sixth year in a row, Council 10514, Flagler Beach, FL has organized a '911' Memorial Parade on September 11, 2008 at 8:00 AM.  Everyone will meet at the Flagler Beach Pier where wreaths will be thrown in the ocean.

Immediately following the wreath throwing, we will process to the Social Hall at Santa Maria del Mar for refreshments.  At 11:00 AM there will be a 'Blue' Mass at the Church then back to the hall for lunch. 

Dignitaries will be in attendance with representatives of the US Army Reserve Color Guard, Fire Departments, Police Departments, VFW, DAV, ROTC, members from councils 10514, 7845, 11961, 8791, 13018 and, of course, the  Color Corps from several assemblies will also be there.

Mark your calendars for September 20^th, 2008 for the 9^th Annual Pro-Life Seminar hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council #9236. This year the seminar will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in <Ğxml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = 'urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags' />Orlando from 8 am – 4:30 pm. Speakers include Fr. Denis Wilde from the Priests for Life, Loretta Fleming with National Committee for Human Life Amendment, and Deborah Shearer with the Diocesan Office of Advocacy and Justice.

Registration is $$15 and includes materials, breakfast, and lunch.

The 53rd State Golf Tournament will be held September 26-28 at Sun'N Lake Golf & Country Club in Sebring Florida.

Registration packes have been provided to Council Grand Knights, District Deputies, Faithful Navigators and to potential participants upon request.  This was done at the Florida State Council Knights of Columbus Annual State Convention (May 23-25, 2008) in Orlando.

Play will be on both the Deer Run and turtle Run courses

White Tees: Age 55-64
Gold Tees: Ages 65-74
Green Tees: Age 75 and over

The Father Mendoza Assembly 154 in Lakeland will be accepting donations of personal hygiene items and snack items as well as monetary donations for our 'Support The Troops Drive that we began in September 2007.  We have shipped over 400 care packages to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan in the last year. Our next collection will be at each mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lakeland (Polk County) on Septembe 27th and 28th 2008.  Please help if you can so that we can show our community that the words 'We Support Our Troops' is more than just a phrase!!!

 Volunteers are needed for the Special Olympics Fall Classic

When: October31 and November 1

Where: Disney's Wide World of Sports

What Sports: Bowling,  Roller-Skating, Power Lifting, Target Bowl, Softball Skills, and Team Softball, and of course, the Healthy Athletes Program

We hope each Grand Knight within the greater Disney World area will muster some volunteers and sign up as a group to work any of the above sports.  Games are held Friday afternoon and all day Saturday from 7:00a.m. until closing ceremonies that evening.

Help is needed in all areas including meal service. 

Everyone is welcome, but we realize the distance may be a problem for most of our members around the State.  That is why we have encouraged you to participate in your local programs and enable your own neighbors to reach their dream of competing in these State competitions.  As always, fill in your statistics for Supreme...and have fun helping.

Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age. No child under the age of 10 will be allowed to volunteer or accompany an adult during their volunteer shift. You will be told on the event day that your services cannot be utilized if you have children with you. This is for the safety of both the child and everyone else involved with the event.
